|Dr. Hosick Elected Fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons|
W. Bartley Hosick, MD, FAAHKS, was recently awarded
fellowship in the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), a
national organization that recognizes accomplishments in the field of total
joint surgery. Current AAHKS members elected new fellows of the society in
"I am honored to have earned this distinction, which
recognizes my dedication to serving the orthopaedic needs of patients in our
community," said Dr. Hosick, who is one of only four members in Fairfax, Prince
William, Loudon and Fauquier counties to have earned AAHKS fellowship.
To meet the criteria designating fellowship status, physicians must
perform a high volume of total joint surgeries, receive several recommendations
of support from existing members, and submit a surgical case list for a year for
review. New AAHKS members will be recognized at the organization's annual
meeting later this year.
"Dr Hosick is a brilliant surgeon and we are
very proud to have him on our medical staff," said S. Marc Krenytzky, MD, Vice
President for Medical Affairs.
Dr. Hosick earned his medical degree from
the Medical College of Virginia and completed his residency in Orthopaedic
Surgery at the University of Connecticut. He then went on to complete a
fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the University of
