Services and Phone Numbers

ATM: for your convenience, there are three ATM machines located throughout the hospital—in the hospital main lobby, near the Emergency Room lobby, and on the lower level of Medical Building 2.

Case Management: a team of registered nurses and social workers whose main function is to coordinate care delivery by helping to plan for discharge. They provide services 24 hours a day. Call 703-369-8363.

Chapel/Meditation Room: a nondenominational chapel / meditation room located on the first floor; open 24 hours a day for the use of patients and visitors.

Children: children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Further restrictions may apply in various departments.

Dining Options: Prince William Medical Center offers a full-service dining room for your convenience. Located on the first floor, the dining room is open to the public.

Daily: 6:30am to 10:30am (closed 10:30am to 11:00am); 11:00am to 3:30pm (closed 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.); 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

Coffee Buzz, our coffee shop, is located on the first floor behind the main reception desk and offers coffee, tea and other beverages as well as light snacks.

Hours of operation: Mon.-Fri., 6:30am to 5:00pm

Facility Maps: facility maps are available at the Information Desk in the main lobby.

Financial Services: if you have questions after you've received your hospital bill, contact our Business Office at 703-369-8300. If you have no insurance (classified as self-pay) and need assistance regarding your bill, contact one of our Financial Counselors at 703-369-8020 Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Fire Drills: for your protection, the hospital conducts fire and disaster drills regularly. If a drill occurs while you are here, please remain in your room and do not become alarmed.

Flowers: flowers are delivered on arrival. Flowers may not be accepted on the Critical Care Unit.

Gift Shop: operated by the Prince William HealthCare Auxiliary, the gift shop, located in the hospital main lobby, sells a variety of items such as flowers, cards, specialty gifts and personal items. Hours of operation: Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Closed weekends and major holidays.

Housekeeping: tell your nurse about any housekeeping concerns or requests you may have.

Interpreters: foreign or sign language interpreters are available for assistance upon request. Let a staff member know you need this service so we may better understand your needs.

Mail: mail delivery is made daily, except weekends and holidays. Packages and flowers are delivered on arrival.

Newspapers: several newspaper stands are located outside the Emergency Room entrance.

Parking: parking for patients and visitors is available in the lot directly in front of the medical center main entrance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All parking at Prince William Medical Center is free. We also offer free valet parking Monday through Friday at the main lobby from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Patient Relations: your patient representative is available to answer any questions you might have about the services provided at the hospital. Your patient representative is available to facilitate communication and understanding between you, your family and our hospital staff. Your patient relations representative may be reached by dialing 8002 or 8803, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm. If you need assistance outside of these hours, dial 0 for the operator and ask to speak with a patient advocate.

Proof of Birth Process: Prince William Medical Center issues a proof of birth document within seven days of a child’s birth. The proof of birth document is used only until the official state birth certificate has been issued. It may be used by the parents for official business, such as insurance, until the state-issued birth certificate is received. Prince William Medical Center collects the birth registration information from the birth mother and submits it to the State Registrar in the Office of Vital Records in Richmond, Virginia. The proof of birth document is given to the parents at the same time the birth registration information is submitted to the state. To obtain an official birth certificate, parents must apply to the Commonwealth of Virginia along with a $12 fee. Use the following contact information:

Radiology Films: obtaining copies of your images from Prince William Medical Center is easy to do. Simply call the Radiology Image Library at 703-369-8584 at least 24 hours in advance to request the images. Bring a photo ID with you when you arrive. Your images will only be released to you or to an authorized person who has your written consent. To pick up your images, enter the main entrance of the hospital and turn left down the corridor to the Radiology Department waiting area. Our customer service representatives will gladly assist you.

Smoking: to promote the health, safety and comfort of all individuals, all of our campuses are tobacco-free. This means tobacco use is not allowed inside the medical center or outside on the center's grounds, including vehicles in the parking lot. Nicotine-free "e-cigarettes" are also prohibited. TTY/TDD: we have a TTY / Telephone available for you to use in your room as well as other deaf / hearing-impaired resources, if needed. Ask your nurse for assistance. For hearing-impaired phone services, contact the Virginia Relay Services at 1-800-828-1120 (text telephone) or 1-800-282-1140 (voice).

Telephones: local outgoing calls can be made by pressing 9 + number. Long distance calls can be made by dialing 9 + 1 + area code + number and can be billed to your credit card, made collect or billed to a verifiable third number.

Television: service is provided at no additional charge. Televisions are closed-captioned.

Valuables: leave valuables at home. If you arrive with valuables, send them home with your family or ask to have them put in the hospital safe. If you choose to keep your valuables with you, the hospital is not responsible for these items if they are lost or stolen.

Visitation Policy: Prince William Medical Center does not specify visiting hours. After 8:00pm, all visitors will be directed to enter the hospital from the Birthing Center entrance. Visitation occurs as appropriate to the patient's condition and personal safety. The hospital may limit or restrict visitors when visitation may interfere with the care of the patient and/or the care of other patients.
