OUR NURSING PHILOSOPHY

At Prince William Hospital, the nursing staff believes that the care we provide is vital to the health of our patients, their families and our community. We hold ourselves and each other accountable for excellence in nursing practice and individualizing the care we provide for the needs of our patients.

We are committed to the continual advancement of nursing by keeping current with changes in practice, knowledge and technology. We support continuing advanced education. We participate in and utilize research to maintain the highest quality care for our community. We understand the importance of a supportive environment that recognizes nursing achievements and believe in the importance of job growth opportunities and competitive salaries.

Our nursing team demonstrates leadership that is empowering and staff-focused. We encourage two-way communication and inspire accountability by challenging each individual to pursue clinical excellence and professionalism.

As advocates for patients and families, we promote participation in their care and treatment. We provide excellence in care for all patients through the delivery of compassionate care and education while respecting and supporting their individual rights. We uphold the visions and values of PWHS, working collectively to promote interdisciplinary relationships that ensure excellence across the continuum.

At Prince William Hospital, our nurses are the heart of the hospital. We offer an environment that fosters a culture of caring. Our staff is a team of dedicated and talented individuals who enjoy their work.

Shared Governance

Shared Governance is an active part of our clinical practice at Prince William Hospital. Nursing staff from all clinical areas of practice work together to improve clinical outcomes, safety and ensure the best practice.
