Competency/Skills Days
A new process for assessing skills and competencies is being explored. However, it is still important to maintain ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications. Specific details for hospital and department-specific competencies will be announced.

Basic IV Skills Workshop
This course is designed for PWH employees only (RN's, LPN's, nursing technical assistants and technicians in radiology or diagnostics and imaging who require knowledge of basic IV skills). Participants will learn how to perform successful venipuncture, identify complications and maintain the IV system with routine care. Class size is limited and restricted to those who require IV skills as part of thier job description.

Dysrhythmia Interpretation
This class is designed to provide basic information regarding cardiac dysrhythmia enabling the learner to recognize lethal arrhythmias and interpret sinus, atrial and junctional and ventricular rhythms, heart blocks and paced rhythms. Class size is limited to those who require dysrythmia interpretation skills as part of their job description.
