PWHS Announces New Board Officers

The Prince William Health System Board of Trustees announced a new slate of officers for a two-year term starting January 2010. Succeeding Mike Dailey as Board Chairman is Richard Belden. Mike Hoover becomes the new vice chairman, and Rexford Parr has been reappointed as secretary.
Mike Dailey has been involved with the Health System board since 2000, serving as chairman for the past six years; he will remain active on the board.

"As chairman, Mike Dailey has always had a clear vision for the future of Prince William Health System and, this year, he lead us to a successful partnership with Novant Health," said Michael Schwartz, PWHS President and CEO.

Among his other accomplishments as chairman is the construction of The Cancer Center at Lake Manassas, Heathcote Health Center, the Surgery Center and Marblestone Health Center. In addition, the Manassas campus of Prince William Hospital has been updated and expanded, including a new Surgical Services Suite and Emergency Services Department.

"Mike has been an untiring advocate for improved quality initiatives, the introduction of new services, and many renovations of the hospital’s physical buildings," adds Schwartz.

Richard Belden has served on the PWHS Board of Trustees since 2004. He is Chief Operating Officer for the Universal Service Administration Company located in Washington, DC. Prior to this, he was General Manager of Micron Technology Virginia in Manassas and President and Chief Operating Officer of Dominion Semiconductor.

"We are extremely fortunate to have Richard assume the position of Chairman of the Board. He is an initiator for change and growth, and an activist for the future," explains Schwartz.

Michael Hoover is the President of TML Copiers. Hoover has been with TML for more than 20 years and on the hospital’s Board of Trustees for 10 years. He is currently a member of the Kiwanis Club of Bull Run and has also served in numerous leadership and community development roles in the past, including Chairman of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce.

Rexford Parr, President and CEO of Didlake, Inc. in Manassas, has served in many elected offices, including Chairman of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce; President of the Voluntary Action Center, Prince William County; Treasurer of the Coalition for Human Services of the Prince William Area and President of the Rotary Club of Manassas. Parr joined the PWHS Board of Trustees in 1999.
