PEDIATRICS

One of our top priorities is the health and well-being of children. Our specially trained pediatric nurses and kid-friendly staff provide a caring environment throughout Prince William Hospital.

Family-Focused Pediatric Unit
If your child needs overnight care, Prince William Hospital has a six-bed Pediatric Unit. All nurses are specially trained in pediatric care and are PALS-certified (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).

We believe in family-centered care, and we equip each room with a special sleep chair so that a parent may spend the night.

The unit also has a playroom with books, games and toys for children of all ages. We also have fun centers on wheels that are equipped with Game Cubes, DVDs, a VCR and Nintendo.

When it's time to eat, your child can choose from an easy-to-use kids-only menu. Just call the nutrition services department and tell them what your child would like, and the meal will be delivered within 30 minutes. The parent that spends the night may also call to receive a complimentary meal.

  • Breakfast is from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Lunch is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Dinner is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

In addition, the unit is equipped with its own kitchen, so parents can get a cup of coffee or heat soup in a microwave.
